Midwest Dynamometer

This is one of the original machines built between 1918 & 1922 at Iowa State College (Iowa State University)

Originally built on a Model A Ford Truck, in 1940 it was remounted on a 1937 Ford 1 1/2 ton truck.

It was owned by the state of IOWA and operated by Clifford Buffington, Colo, IA in earlier days. After Clifford's death, the machine was for sale.

In 1971, Dale Huston, Cottage Grove, WI purchased this machine at the Draft Horse Sale in Cedar Rapids, IA and ran it in Wisconsin for a few years.

In 2009, Clifford's son, Virgil Buffington of Jamesport, IA & Bryan Davis, Grinnell, IA purchased it back from Dale and started putting on horsepulling contests in Iowa and joining states.

This machine is ready to start booking for the 2010 season!
